Boarding the Maid of the Mist is exciting from the very first step. The boat gently glides into the Niagara River, giving you a sense of anticipation as the falls come into view. The closer you get, the louder the roar, and bigger the thrill.

Best time to go: For fewer crowds and calmer waters, aim for a morning departure between 9am and 11am or an early afternoon departure around 12pm to 2pm. Later departures, from 3pm to 5pm, still offer spectacular views of the falls and misty rainbows, but mornings tend to be less busy, giving you more space on deck for photos. Summer months bring longer days and warmer weather, great for a boat ride.
